LAB MEMBERS

KHOA TRAN, PH.D - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR (HE/HIM)

K.TRAN@TUFTS.EDU

200 BOSTON AVE, MEDFORD, MA 02144

Khoa (Pronounced as “Kwa”) received his bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Ph.D in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His scientific journey involves research on RNA riboswitches, transfusion medicine, mechanisms of small molecules, epigenetics of cellular reprogramming and the metabolic-epigenetic axis during aging.

Outside of research, Khoa enjoys running, video games, reading, building terrariums and legos.

MADISON (MADDIE) RITTER - GRADUATE STUDENT

MADISON.RITTER@TUFTS.EDU

Maddie earned her bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics from the University of California, San Diego in 2025. Although her coursework focused heavily on computational biology, her laboratory research centered on immunology, where she investigated T cell adhesion and migration. By integrating her computational and experimental backgrounds, Maddie now applies molecular and multi-omics approaches in the Tran lab to study how the metabolic-epigenetic axis shapes cellular aging.

Outside of lab, Maddie loves baking sourdough, playing in her intramural soccer league and traveling whenever she can.

COREY ISGUR - GRADUATE STUDENT

COREY.ISGUR@TUFTS.EDU

Corey received his bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UMass Amherst, where he worked in the Vierling lab studying redox biology in Arabidopsis. He went on to work at Sensei Biotherapeutics developing phage particle vaccines, and then Arbor Biotechnologies where he did protein purification, biochemical and biophysical assay development, and AAV production. Corey now focuses on the biomolecular mechanisms of cellular aging by studying chromatin remodeling in the context of epigenetics.

Outside of the lab, Corey enjoys playing the banjo, aquascaping, ferns, playing in Maddie’s intramural soccer league, video games, watching shows from the 2000s & cooking Dan Dan noodles.

VICTORIA WEN - UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

VICTORIA.WEN@TUFTS.EDU

Victoria grew up on Long Island, NY, and is pursuing a BS in Biology as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Tran Lab. She is interested in studying epigenetics and its translational applications in age-related diseases.

Outside of the lab, she enjoys cafe-hopping, swimming, and playing video games. Throughout her undergraduate experience, she hopes to connect with fellow researchers in the Tufts biology department and those involved in aging research at other Boston schools.
